Board of Directors

MECOP is a non-profit organization with a five person Board of Directors that acts as its governing body. MECOP's board meets quarterly to discuss CME applications, to enact policies that ensure compliance with the ACCME (MECOP's accrediting body), and to guide the financial and overall success of the organization.

Board President

Robert Wilson, Jr., MD

Dr. Wilson, affectionately known as "Dr. Bob," has been with MECOP almost 10 years - and was recently elected as Board President (2013).  Dr. Bob is a retired private practice pediatrician.  He currently serves as Pediatric Clerkship Co-Director for FSU College of Medicine's Pensacola Campus.  In his professional role, Dr. Bob coordinates the curriculum for medical students, so his vast knowledge of the medical education world are key in helping MECOP maintain compliance with the ACCME.   His involvement and direction over MECOP's Curriculum Committee also guide each program's direction and ensure that practice gaps are addressed and quality CME is delivered to all partnering organizations.

Dr. McLeod is the Senior Associate Dean for Florida State University College of Medicine's regional campuses.  He is also a professor for FSU's Department of Family Medicine.  Dr. McLeod works closely with the medical students and FSU Tallahassee and, thus, helps MECOP coordinate successful CME activities for FSU's faculty physicians at all nine satellite campuses.

Board Member

Charles Farmer, MD

Dr. Farmer recently retired from medical practice after 25 years with Pensacola Pathologists/Vivid Pathology.  Dr. Farmer is a native of Clinton, Mississippi, and returns often to visit family there.  He and his wife, Lee, are enjoying retirement spending time traveling to visit their 3 grown children, as well as doing medical mission work in Central America.  He and his wife are active members of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church.

Paul Baroco, MD
Dr. Baroco recently retired as the Director of Medical Education for Sacred Heart Health System and is now fully retired from the hospital to enjoy time at home with his wife and grandchildren - and, of course, time on his boat doing what he loves  Dr. Baroco served on MECOP's board for over 10 years and worked closely with MECOP staff to ensure quality CME was delivered at all joint partner organizations.  His leadership will be greatly missed.
