Provisions for Accreditation
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential
Areas and
Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)
through the joint sponsorship of the Medical Educational Council of Pensacola,
Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital, Nemours Children’s Clinic, Pensacola and the
Florida State University College of Medicine. The
Medical Educational Council of Pensacola is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing
medical education for physicians and takes responsibility for the content,
quality and scientific
integrity of this CME activity. The Medical Educational Council of Pensacola
designates
this educational activity for up to 12 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians
should claim only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their
participation in the activity.
This continuing medical education activity has been reviewed
by the American Academy of Pediatrics and is acceptable for up to
23.75 AAP credits. (PALS Initial 11.75; PALS Recertification 7.75; Symposium
12.0) These credits can be applied toward the AAP CME/CPD Award available
to Fellows and Candidate Fellows of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
AAP credits for attendees are recorded only when an attendee submits a copy of
his/her certificate of attendance with AAP ID number to the American Academy of
Pediatrics, Education-Award office.
If the AAP ID
number is not included, credit will not be recorded.
This activity has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to
12 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians.
This activity has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 12 Pharmacy
credit hours by the Medical Educational Council of Pensacola.
This seminar is approved for 5 CH on Day 1, 5 CH on Day 2 and 5
CH on Day 3 for the Florida Board of Nursing by Education and
Training Services, Sacred Heart Health System, Provider No. FBN 3229.

The PALS courses are associated with the American Heart Association and the
American Academy of Pediatrics. The goals of the PALS course are to provide 1)
information needed for recognizing the infant or child at risk of
cardiopulmonary arrest 2) information and strategies for preventing
cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children and 3) the cognitive and
psychomotor skills necessary for resuscitation and stabilizing the infant or
child in respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest. Participants
should have a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider card before registering for
PALS. Submit a copy of the front and back of the card with the enrollment form.
The PALS certification course includes the cost of test that will be sent to you
along with an information packet when the enrollment form is received. It is
imperative that participants study the text prior to attending.
