ACCREDITATION

The Medical Educational Council of Pensacola is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians and takes responsibility for the content, quality, and scientific integrity of this CME activity.
 
The Medical Educational Council of Pensacola designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion, the participant should be able to:

  1. DIFFERENTIATE among the categories of mistreatment as defined by Florida Statute.
  2. RECOGNIZE the clinical signs of abuse, both physical and psychological.
  3. DEVELOP screening procedures for determining whether a patient has any history of being a victim or a perpetrator of domestic violence.
  4. EXPERIENCE a heightened awareness of the age groups and situations within the population that are most vulnerable to abuse.
  5. REALIZE the extent of domestic violence within the community.
  6. COMPREHEND the dynamics of domestic violence.
  7. IDENTIFY referral sites and sources of counseling within the community for suspected victims and suspected perpetrators of domestic violence.

HARDWARE/SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

For this CME program, your computer should be Windows XP, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT or Windows 2000 compatible. If you are using a modem to connect to the internet, you will need a modem speed of at least 56k.

Course is provided as text with post-test. Expected time to complete is 45 to 60 minutes.

- Read the home study.

- Complete the test questions and enter the answers on the final test sheet.

- Enclose check for $25.00 made payable to the Medical Educational Council of Pensacola, or enter your credit card information and submit.

- If you are paying by check, mail the answer sheet, evaluation and check to the Medical Educational Council of Pensacola, 8880 University Pkwy, Suite C, Pensacola, Florida 32514.

- Test will be graded and reviewed for you.

- 80% is a passing score.

- Receive Certificate of Completion for your records. KEEP this with your other continuing education records.
